About/Contact

I am a writer and editor in Portland, Oregon.

I grew up in the desert southwest—in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Texas, El Paso. I write and edit for Reed Magazine the alumni magazine of my alma mater. Previously I taught writing (first and second year composition courses at the University of New Mexico), operated a private piano studio, and worked a variety of administrative positions while I honed my writing on the side.

In 2014, I earned my M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of New Mexico. I miss the southwest terribly, but I enjoy exploring the Northwest forests and coasts. I suspect I’ll always be torn between the two places.
